Jude Narita performs From the Heart – a Celebration of Asian Women

This weekend in honor of Asian Heritage Month, Cobi’s Place presents the award-winning theater artist and activist Jude Narita – Celebrating Mothers and Asian Americans – while stompin’ on stereotypes!! Jude believes Mother’s Day should last all month, nay, all year! and she is honored to be performing at her mother’s NYC performance space!
Jude performs a collection of witty wild wonderous women in her evolving one woman play “From the Heart” which celebrates the lives, and brings to life the dreams, of different Asian and Asian American mothers and daughters from around the world. Some of the life stories the women share: a fairy tale about Hiroshima, the Japanese American Internment Camps, beginning a new life in America, and finally claiming your own identity in American – thru the voices of a Korean student, a Chinese American student, a Japanese American Nisei and Sansei, a Cambodian refugee, and a woman from the Middle East – Narita illuminates the universal humanity of us all. Her women will warm your heart and touch your soul.
Performances are SAT May 21 at 8 PM and SUN May 22 at 7:30 PM.
